In a small village, there was a kind and gentle girl who unfortunately had a large hump on her back. Despite being teased by others, she always kept a smile and helped everyone. In the same village lived another girl with a hump, but she was rich, arrogant, and mean.

One evening, the kind girl went into the forest to gather firewood but got lost. As night fell, she saw a bright fire and heard music. Terrified but curious, she peeked and saw a group of goblins dancing wildly.

Suddenly, the Goblin King saw her and pulled her into the circle. Instead of being scared, she sang a beautiful song with her clear voice. The goblins were delighted. To ensure she would return, the King said: "You sing very well. I will take this heavy lump from your back as a deposit. Come back tomorrow to get it." He used magic to remove the hump instantly without pain. The girl returned home, now beautiful and straight-backed.

Hearing the news, the rich mean girl became jealous. She went to the forest that night, hoping to lose her hump too. The goblins appeared and invited her to dance. However, she was rude and sang horribly because she was scared.

The Goblin King was annoyed. He shouted: "You sing badly! Here, take your friend's deposit back!" He grabbed the hump he took from the kind girl and attached it to the mean girl's back. She ran home crying, now burdened with two humps forever.

💡 Culture Corner & Moral (Góc Văn Hóa)

Karma (Ác giả ác báo): The story is a humorous yet stern lesson about Karma. The kind girl's hump was removed as a reward for her bravery and gentle nature, while the greedy girl's punishment was doubled.

Spirits (Thế giới tâm linh): In Vietnamese folklore, spirits and goblins are not always evil. They can be fair judges who reward talent and punish bad attitudes.
