Truong Ba was a gentle and talented scholar, famous for his skill in chess. Even the King of Gods, De Thich, admired him and often came down to Earth to play with him. One day, due to a careless mistake by a deity, Truong Ba's name was crossed out of the Book of Life, and he died suddenly.
De Thich wanted to save his friend, but Truong Ba's body had already decayed. As a last resort, De Thich decided to revive Truong Ba by placing his soul into the body of a butcher who had just passed away.
Truong Ba woke up, but in a strange, coarse body. He returned home to his family. His wife was terrified and did not recognize him. The butcher's wife also came to claim her husband. Truong Ba faced a terrible conflict.
Although he was alive, he suffered greatly. His refined soul despised the butcher's body, which craved meat and alcohol. He felt like a stranger in his own house, causing pain to his loved ones. He realized he was losing his true identity.
Unable to bear living a lie, Truong Ba called De Thich. He said: "I cannot live inside one person and think like another. I want to be whole again. Please let me die properly to liberate my soul." De Thich understood and agreed. Truong Ba's soul left the butcher's body, choosing death over a fake existence. He taught everyone that being true to oneself is the most important thing.
Identity (Bản ngã): The story asks a deep philosophical question: "Who are you?" It emphasizes that the soul and body must be in harmony. Living a borrowed life brings only suffering.
Integrity (Sự toàn vẹn): Truong Ba chose death over compromising his values. "I want to be me, whole and complete."
Bản ngã: Câu chuyện đặt ra câu hỏi triết học sâu sắc: "Ta là ai?". Nó nhấn mạnh rằng hồn và xác phải hài hòa. Sống cuộc đời vay mượn chỉ mang lại đau khổ.
Sự toàn vẹn: Trương Ba thà chọn cái chết còn hơn đánh mất giá trị của mình. "Tôi muốn được là tôi, toàn vẹn."
