Once upon a time, there was a man who was very kind but unfortunately very foolish. He often made silly mistakes, causing his wife to worry constantly. One day, his wife gave him three strings of coins and said: "Go to the city and find a master to learn some wisdom. Don't come back until you are wise."
The fool traveled far until he met an old scholar. He gave the scholar all his money and asked to buy wisdom. The scholar smiled and taught him two phrases: "If you see a fight, stand back" and "Check everything before you sleep."
Disappointed that wisdom was just simple words, the fool walked home. Suddenly, he saw two buffalos fighting fiercely on the road. Remembering the advice, he jumped far away into a ditch. Moments later, the buffalos crashed exactly where he had been standing. The fool realized the wisdom had saved his life!
When he arrived home, it was late at night. His wife was asleep. He was about to go to bed but remembered the second lesson. He lit a lamp to check the house. Suddenly, he saw a thief hiding under the bed! He shouted loudly, and the neighbors came to arrest the thief.
The wife was amazed. She praised her husband: "The money was well spent! You have truly learned to be wise." From then on, the fool followed the simple advice and lived a safe and happy life.
